Labor Day Adventures

Celebrating Labor Day weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's has become an annual event.  This is our 6th year, and each one gets a little better, if that's even possible.

Nathan caught his first fish!

Annual clam boil, minus the clams, which is a whole other story.  But we sure didn't go hungry!  And as if this weren't enough, we had homemade ice cream and Grandma's apple pie for dessert.

We spent many hours searching for sea life and sharing our touch tanks.  The buckets are filled with sea stars, mussels, rock crabs, seaweed, barnacles, shrimp, and a sea urchin.  It's hard to see the 'open' and 'closed' signs because of the glare of the sun, but it's apparent that this was a very serious operation!

We made boats and decorated them with pretty rocks and shells.

Evening fire.

Bringing in the crab pots.  This was the last weekend of the season.  We'll start again in July!
