Bellingham Traversed

Mom, Dad, Aunt Katy, and Uncle Joe traversed Bellingham this weekend in a multi-leg relay race.  We were their support crew.  We must have done a great job, because they all improved their times compared to two years ago when the kids stayed home!

Mom started the race on the greenways run, which climbed into the hills after following the trail along the bay for a couple of miles.  Isn't it beautiful?

Mom handed off to Uncle Joe, who rode the mountain bike leg.

Uncle Joe coming into the transition point to hand off to Dad for the road bike leg.

Dad rocked the road bike leg and took 8 minutes off his time from two years ago.

Aunt Katy ran like a flash (3rd female overall), and we didn't even get a chance to get a picture of her on the trail run.  She handed off to Mom and Dad, who paddled the kayak leg.

We were so spirited that we had race tattoos on our foreheads!

The final leg was a .65 mile team run to the finish line.  We ran part of the final stretch with them.  After a full day's excitement, we were tuckered out!  But we're already looking forward to next year!
