So Thankful!

Our perfect Thanksgiving - We started off with a dip in the hot tub and then went for a walk at our favorite spot.
Collecting garbage on the beach - and even a garbage can!

Mom and Aunt Katy made a lovely meal.

Elsa's thanksgiving project for all of us.  Remembering what we are thankful for.  Nathan's Thanksgiving pumpkin centerpiece, too.

Disneyland!

Quite possibly the happiest place on earth.  Unless you can be in a room full of sloths and pandas, according to Elsa.

On the plane and ready to go!

Off the plane and waiting for our Uber driver.

Lovely birds of paradise on our walk to Disneyland.

We're here!

Watch out!

Ready for the teacups.  Mom did not go on this one.

Look who we found!  The lovely Megan Nelson and her wonderful family!

An early Dia de los Muertos celebration

Elsa waiting for Elsa.  We watched a Broadway-style production of Frozen.  Ironically, it was 97 degrees outside.

Happy birthday, Evan!

Double digits! How can that be??  We are so proud of the person you are becoming.  You are kind to others.  Your teacher tells us how helpful you are to your classmates.  You are competitive, but supportive teammate.  You are a good friend.  You are a terrific brother and son!

We celebrated the day after your birthday with a hike.

First Day of School

Evan: 4th grade
Nathan: 2nd grade

Day Before School Starts

We chose to hike to the beach for our day-before-school-starts adventure.  It was all a lot of fun until we got attacked by wasps!  Nathan was stung twice on the ear and Evan was stung seven times on his ear, head, face, back, and arm.  We recovered, though, and we still had a nice time afterward.

Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island

We are finally posting pictures from our trip to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.  We spent a week traveling with Oma in this beautiful corner of Canada.

The Citadel of Halifax

The Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world.

The Bay of Fundy tide comes in faster than any tide in the world (1 foot per minute).  Nathan was on the end of this log without any water touching it when Mom and Dad told him to come back in.  The tide came in so quickly that the log was submerged before he could even get back to the shore!

Hiking Partridge Island

We passed these fishing boats on our way to hike one day.  They were completely out of water.  In fact, you could not even see the water from the dock.

Later in the day, we stopped again.  Same boats.  We passed one more time on our way to dinner, and the tide was so far out again that the boats were completely out of water like in the picture above!

On the Atlantic Ocean on our way to Portland, Maine.  We saw whales breaching on the trip, but were too busy watching to get any pictures.
