This beard is coming off tonight and Nathan is not too happy about it.

 

Happy Veteran's Day!

We are thankful for the service, past and present, of our family, friends, and neighbors.  We know some real heroes - the men and women in uniform AND the families that support them.  Some days when I am struggling to get everything accomplished while Adam is on the road, I think of my grandma who, when they lived in Kodiak, Alaska, had two littles and a newborn and only knew when my grandpa was flying because she could see his plane take off from their house and knew when he was coming home because he showed up at the door (often with single airmen in tow) or she saw his plane land.  When I am working late at night for the Army or am frustrated by the number of weekends Adam has to spend at work, I think of my grandpa, who survived seven (!) plane crashes.  We've got it pretty easy.

Hike up Mt. Si

Dad thought that Mom needed to get on a mountain (perhaps she was grumpy) so we all went hiking up Mt. Si.  We hiked most of the way with our new friend, Ben, and his mom.

 We could see Seattle, Bellevue, and Lake Washington from the top.

Hat Tricks

Last game of the season, and Evan and Nathan both got hat tricks.  These brothers scored all the goals for their games today.  Three each for Evan and Nathan; one each for Tavis and Bryker.  The Chargers went undefeated and the Ghost Sharks only lost one game this season.  These guys were great teammates and showed a lot of heart.  Tavis and Evan are going to miss each other in basketball - the first time in 9 sports seasons that they won't be on the same team because Tavis won't turn 9 until January.  But they'll be back together for spring soccer!
