We were so excited to see our former nanny, Miss Leila, and her newborn son, Romeo, today!  We had a great visit.  Romeo is precious.  We can't wait to see them both when they're back in town again!

Releasing our Butterflies

We raised butterflies from larvae, and today we released them in our backyard.  We eagerly await their return to our garden and flowers!

I'm pretty sure not everyone has this much fun in the backseat of this police car.

Happy birthday and happy summer start!

We had beautiful weather to start our summer and celebrate Dad's birthday.  Evan, Nathan, and Elsa organized a surprise party, which included obstacle decorations.  Good thing Mom and Dad have good military training to be able to low-crawl down the hall!

We had exceptionally low tides, and were able to collect (and release) unusual sea creatures.  It isn't often that you can pick a Dungeness crab up off the beach!  We set up a museum with Elsa to show off our sea stars, crabs, limpets, sea urchins and other treasures.  We even had a huge oyster, but it was easy to collect off Grandpa's oyster beds.

Camping Season Begins

Memorial Day weekend is the official opening of camping season in the great Northwest.  Let the camping begin!

Grandma and Grandpa joined us for dinner at our campsite.  Walking them back to their car was a multi-sport adventure.  We needed a pogostick, baseball, and bike to get there.

These fun trees were at the top of a hill right in our campsite.

No-handed pogosticking takes talent!  Elsa is a pro, though.  She was even in a parade parade last weekend and jumped the entire route!

The new Eurovan is a hit!

Lots of sand construction going on here.  We had the beach to ourselves.

T-ball time!

Nathan does enjoy the game and is not as grumpy as he looks.  He's just mad at Mom for not letting him take the picture with his glove in front of his face.

Too bad the fence is the only thing that's in focus in this picture.  If you look closely, you can see that we are both attentive and ready for the ball.

Long Beach Walk

Grandpa and I went on a long beach walk on Friday.  We were gone so long we almost missed dinner!  The next day, I took Mom and Nathan to show them where we'd been.  It's always a good day when you spend hours walking the beach!
